I had a great experience with John Offut, Peninsula Flooring & Remodeling and would highly recommend him. I hired John to completely redo all three of my bathrooms. I was overwhelmed with the prospect of picking products for a beautiful cohesive look in each one. In an organized manner, John stepped me through the process, helping me pick out all of the products with a great eye for color and details. The bathrooms turned out gorgeous. John’s exemplary service included beautiful craftsmanship; attention to detail; a desire to do a fantastic job and have his clients happy; always answering calls and never missing an appointment. We could not be happier with our master bath remodel. It exceeded our expectations and we really enjoyed working with John and his crew. John (the owner) and his crew did the first phase of our condo remodel and did a fantastic job! We will be doing the second phase shortly, and John will be the first person we call. There were a few things I was looking for when I was shopping around for a contractor, and he delivered! Cost - I had a few bids from a few contractors and John’s was right in the middle. However, I liked the fact that the person who is giving me the bid would be involved in the remodel. Also, he was realistic with our budget and stayed within in it. Construction - They showed up on time and cleaned up the best they could at days end. The project included repainting our entire condo, installing new floors/trim, refacing our fireplace with stone and custom mantel edge (picture included), and a complete remodel of our ½ bath (picture included). We could not be happier with his work! Timing - scoped out two weeks, completed in 2 weeks. Overall, we enjoyed working with Peninsula Flooring & Remodeling, and I would recommend them to anyone! Honestly, they exceeded our highest expectations, and we can’t wait to have them do our Kitchen!!! It has taken me six months to write my review, because I have so many wonderful things to say about my experience - it’s been very difficult to summarize. I have worked with numerous contractors, on so many projects over the years. I have always come away with negative experiences - lack of communication, lack of follow through on projects, unmet expectations, etc (and so much worse). Working with John was so very different. Honestly, he exceeded all of my expectations and made the project so very easy - and enjoyable - from beginning to end! His overall attention to detail and kindness throughout every step of the project set this process apart from any other project I have ever experienced. John took on my remodel during a very stressful time in my life. Not only did he exceed my expectations in the end result, but the he made every step of the project smooth. He is a true general contractor. He managed every detail without me having to coordinate a single thing. John has wonderful suppliers to refer his clients to - he also makes himself available to meet with you and support you through every step of the decision making process. He will provide as much (or as little) support as is necessary and often does the work of a designer and contractor in one. And if you are OCD, John will outmatch you. His attention to detail is unparalleled. You can rest assured than every detail is remembered and attended to with the greatest care. One of the things that stands out about my experience with John is his level of communication. For starters, he answers his phone! He promptly replies to calls and texts within a very short period (typically an hour). I rarely had to reach out to John to check on the progress of my job - he provided me with regular updates. If I hadn’t heard from John for a time, he usually initiated a call to provide me with an update. John has a wife and a daughter and it shows. He describes himself as an “over communicator.” He is great at listening, understanding and providing patience throughout the remodel process - even with females (which has not been my experience). He does not impose his ideas on you or assume he knows what’s best (even though he is a seasoned expert). He genuinely cares and works hard to be sure that he’s delivering his client’s expectations. I have never experienced that level of communication during a project and it was so helpful and reassuring. It ultimately resulted in my home being exactly what I was hoping for. In addition to John doing exceptional work, he works with a team of contractors that are excellent and professional. They are people you will feel safe and comfortable opening your home to and even enjoy having around your family. John and Mark especially are beyond lovely. We were actually a little sad when the project ended! They became a delightful fixture in our home! I was very involved in my project from beginning to end. I had a clear vision of the end result and personally chose all of the materials and fixtures. Even so, I cried when I saw the finished result. If was like an HGTV reveal! The entire experience, and outcome, exceeded every singly expectation I had, and more. I’m sure there are other competent contractors out there (maybe). However, you will not find a more excellent, ethical, or kind one than John. I have lived in my completed house for six months now. When I look around, I still love every single detail and remember all of the kindness, care and excellence that went into this project. I literally wouldn’t change a thing, and would emphatically refer every (nice) person I know to John and his team. Do yourself a favor and hire John - you will thank yourself. We had our entire house updated and our experience was fabulous! I would recommend them highly and will use them for any future work. John and his team remodeled our kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, deck and refinished our hardwood floors. These projects included moving walls, doorways, new plumbing and new electrical. John was very accessible from day one. He responded promptly to our bid request and was able to start our project immediately. He not only helped with material selection, but was available to help us pick up materials we personally ordered. John was upfront with us throughout the entire process which made us very comfortable making hard decisions. His team, Micah and Mark, were always friendly and took the time to explain what they were doing whenever we stopped by the house. Their attention to detail, from carpentry to tile work, was great. My parents were also involved throughout the process; John and his team were very polite and helpful with all of their questions and additional projects they requested. Our initial project size doubled throughout the remodel and they were able to accommodate every change. Our remodel took a little longer than expected due to the additional projects and inspection delays but we are very happy with the final product. Even after completion, John and his team help us with any problem we run into with the house (replacing a light and fixing two problems with our kitchen cabinets). John and his crew did a great job with our basement remodel. They dealt very well with scope creep and kept us appraised of the ongoing costs. Early on in the project there was a bit of a hiccup and John promptly took care of it with no additional cost. I really appreciated the old-fashioned honesty and integrity he brought to the project. Project: Rebuild Patio Cover Exceptional experience from beginning to end. John Offutt, is a competent craftsman, honest businessman, and responsible professional. A good communicator, John responded to my initial telephone inquiry within 15 mins. and continued to keep me informed throughout the project. Rebuilding the patio cover involved tearing down an old patio cover,14 x 36 ft.; repairing the roof where it was attached and completely rebuilding a new patio cover, 16 x 36 ft. with 4 large skylights, and electrical lighting. This venture involved working with a roofing company and John coordinated all aspects of this joint venture so it went smoothly. Change orders were handled with out difficulty. John and carpenter, Mark did beautiful work and they cleaned up the work site at the end of every day on the job. We were very fortunate to have John and Mark recommended to us. We had a an extensive repair project secondary to water damage and failed windows. Their workmanship was superb and meticulous. They were very patient with helping me understand the various options that were available for dealing with our problem. They were open to my desire to use new innovative products.
